uPVC windows don't have to be white. The full range of colours and woodgrain finishes available makes uPVC competitive with painted timber for aesthetic flexibility, while keeping all the performance and durability advantages. Glassterr manufactures coloured uPVC windows at our Pannimadai factory using foil-laminated profiles — the colour is part of the profile, not painted on, so it doesn't fade or chip. Popular choices in Coimbatore are anthracite grey, woodgrain dark oak, and chocolate brown for traditional homes, plus straight black and white for modern designs. Custom colours are possible for larger orders.
Coloured uPVC profile is manufactured by applying a coloured foil laminate to a white uPVC core during the extrusion or post-extrusion stage. The foil is heat-bonded and is part of the surface, not a paint coating. Quality coloured foils (Renolit, Hornschuch, and similar) are UV-rated for 15-25 years of outdoor exposure, with negligible fading. Many woodgrain finishes are remarkably realistic — passing a casual glance test for timber-look windows. The catch with coloured uPVC is that the foil adds cost (typically 15-25% over white), and dark colours absorb more heat in direct sun which can slightly affect frame dimensional stability — premium coloured profiles compensate with upgraded steel reinforcement.
More than most people expect — the printed grain is detailed, the texture has depth, and from any distance over a metre it passes as wood. Up close you can see it's not real timber, but the impression is genuinely good. Popular for homes that want the wood look without the maintenance.
Quality foiled finishes hold their colour for 15-25 years. The cheap stuff fades. We use only UV-rated foils. The price difference between premium and cheap foiled profile is small (₹500-800 per window) but the longevity difference is enormous — choose the proper material.
Yes — 'dual-colour' configurations are common. Black outside, white inside is the most popular for modern Indian homes — gives the modern exterior look without the dark interior feel. Slightly more expensive than single-sided colour.
Typically 15-25% over equivalent white uPVC windows. For a 4ft × 4ft sliding window in anthracite grey, expect ₹3,000-5,000 more than white. Woodgrain finishes are usually at the higher end of this range; solid colours at the lower end.
Roughly the same standard range, but the foil suppliers differ. Some manufacturers carry Renolit foils, others use cheaper alternatives. The standard colours look similar across suppliers; durability differs significantly. Ask which foil brand is used.
