How to Choose a uPVC Window Manufacturer

Choosing who makes your windows is a bigger decision than choosing the windows. Here's how to judge a manufacturer properly.

Maker versus reseller

The first question is whether you're talking to the people who actually fabricate the window or to a reseller who'll pass your job to a fabricator you never meet. Buying from the maker removes a layer of margin and, more importantly, a layer of blame-shifting if anything goes wrong.

What separates a good maker

Look for this

  • Branded profile, reinforced to the opening
  • In-house making, not outsourced
  • Own fitting team, not subcontracted
  • Measures on site before quoting
  • Clear after-sales accountability

The tell-tale signs

Vague superlatives (“best”, “number one”) with nothing specific behind them are a warning. So is a reluctance to say which profile they use, or who actually fits. A maker confident in their work will answer all of it plainly.
