How to Fit uPVC Windows: The Process

Fitting a uPVC window properly is a defined process. Here's how it's done — and why we don't recommend DIY.

The process

Fitting looks simple but depends on seating the window true and sealing it fully — get either wrong and the window leaks, drafts, or sticks.

The steps

1
Remove the old window cleanly
2
Prepare and check the opening
3
Position and level the new unit
4
Fix securely into the structure
5
Seal all gaps against weather and dust
6
Test operation and adjust hardware

Why not DIY

uPVC windows are made to fine tolerances and their performance depends on correct seating and sealing — hard to get right without the tools and experience. We fit with our own team to a standard.
