Many quality uPVC frames have steel inside. Here's what that reinforcement does and when it matters.

Quality ones do where needed — a galvanised steel insert keeps larger frames rigid against sash, glass, and wind loads.
Large sliders, doors, and wide casements most. Very small fixed panes may not. It's specified by size.
Because skimping on it shows up later as sagging or sticking. It's worth confirming it's specified for larger openings.
