Tinted Glass for uPVC Windows

Tinted glass cuts glare and heat. Here's when it's worth fitting.

What tinting does

Tinted glass carries a colour that absorbs part of the incoming sunlight, reducing glare and some heat gain. In strong sun it makes a west- or south-facing room noticeably more comfortable.

How to choose

Look for this

  • Cuts glare from strong sun
  • Reduces some heat gain
  • Adds a degree of daytime privacy
  • Best on sun-facing elevations
  • Reduces daylight slightly

What we'd suggest

Tinting earns its place on sun-hammered elevations — west-facing rooms especially. On a shaded north side it just costs you daylight, so we'd specify it where the sun actually hits.
