In most cases the new window fits the existing opening — uPVC profiles are made to any size, so we adapt to your wall rather than asking you to adapt to a standard size. Where the existing opening is significantly damaged (rusted-out lintel, broken sill), some prep work is needed before the new window goes in. We assess all this at measurement.
Minor edge damage to the plaster around the window frame is normal — when we pull out the old frame, the sealant and lintel-fixings take a bit of plaster with them. We do a clean job and patch up as we go. Major damage doesn't happen in normal replacement — walls aren't structurally affected.
